This is a lovely piece...I'm pretty sure it was burning green chiles...just the air coming off those seeds can be lethal. OMG..she's actually adopting your joke style...love is kind of infectious like that. Glad you're cooking Ottolenghi, a fave -- not at all easy, but I didn't realize that risky! I'm glad you're you are so happy. And I'm looking forward to reading more of your writing, so please keep it coming!

Thank you so much, Jane. Glad you solved the mysterious smoke event! I just started with that cookbook and it all looks great. Makes me want to go to Jerusalem! Never been, but maybe now I will. Thank you for continuing to read my pieces. I will endeavor to write more!
