I adore Chicago. Been there a couple of times. The last one was with my better half Leslie. We spent a week there for our 20th wedding anniversary. Dropped our car off at a station between Nashville and Memphis, and then we took an overnight train to downtown Chicago. We, too, used cabs all week to go all over the city...as well as to Oak Park, the Land of Hemingway. Each of the drivers were a treat.
Alas, nope. But all of the issues are online and free as PDF files. Check them out online. rlburkhead.com. The following link should launch a PDF of the Hemingway issue, including a story on Oak Park: https://www.rlburkhead.com/s/Hemingway_Issue.pdf
Such a fine one! I think I liked it even more than the last, which 'till this was my favorite. And thanks for the link. I much enjoyed and was informed by Fela and the performance.
As always, I learned something new! Nigerian music! Thank you, Richard. This story warmed my heart: a wonderful example of an unstereotyped approach. Interest in other people's culture is exactly what can be one of the first steps to understand and unite with people of different nationalities.
The joy of travel and shared experiences lets me know we as humans are more alike than different. And how many degrees of separation? Love the music and the story !👏
Oh my, Richard! This brings me to joyful tears! I also believe it can be a simple thing to connect with people, to form bridges. And now I'm going to look up this Nigerian music. Thank you so much for your constant insightfulness and your open window to the world.

Love that city!
By the way, are you still publishing your magazine?
