So happy to have this, Richard, and to hear just a bit about your work with the blind. I imagine it is a great challenge for you and for your students. Id love to hear more about it.
Such a broadening experience for both your blind students and for you! I had the opportunity to understand the world in a totally different way when I studied sign language with a deaf teacher. I learned things I never knew I didn't know. Thank you for sharing Yvette's story and writing. It made me think about how much our eyes communicate and now I wish I could have talked to her.
Your tribute is lovely and her words on the soul...piercingly touching.
PS< I'm glad you're on Substack.
Thanks, Helayne, very much.
Thank you for letting us see a glimpse of the soul of a lovely person. Her inner light clearly shone through the darkness . My condolences
beautiful tribute Richard...very sorry for your loss.

Thanks, Nancy. I have purposely not written about it. But in the case of Yvette, I felt it was good someone say something about her and her qualities.

Yes, I know.
I'm glad you shared a bit of Yvette's story. She sounds like a remarkable person.
Yes, but as you can see, I didn't know her that well. Just from class. Even with just that, I was taken by her.
Beautiful essay, ending with her searching words.
Thank you, Joan.
